Our Techniques and Therapies

Just like you, your health care should be completely unique. Our chiropractors take your history, current complaints, needs, goals and preferences into account. We see your care as a partnership. With various modalities and techniques available, we’ll work together to find what suits you.

Generally, you’ll be adjusted with a range of different techniques depending on what you need that day. Rather than having a single primary technique, we’ll use a blend that’s tailored to you. Below, you can read more about our many techniques.

Diversified

Diversified is a general adjusting technique that’s used by many chiropractors. We’ll assess how your spine is moving to determine which areas need to be adjusted. The idea behind it is getting the proper range of motion to all parts of the spine, just how it should be. We’ll palpate your joints to see how they feel, then clear out any restrictions present.
Cox Flexion-Distraction

You can think of this technique like traction for your spine. It rehabs low back conditions such as irritated discs. The spinal segment in question is gently moved, easing your pain and restoring the motion to the joint. This technique is low-force.
Activator®

Do you feel unsure about getting adjusted? The Activator may be the perfect solution for you. This handheld instrument delivers a precise adjustment to an area of your spine, restoring the motion without the use of much force.
Thompson Drop

Our specialized table has a spring-loaded segment that drops away while you’re being adjusted. That means not much force is needed to achieve great results. You’ll find this technique is a comfortable way of getting adjusted and is ideal for certain areas of the spine that aren’t moving well.

We utilize several different therapy modalities. They serve as a fantastic complement to your care, easing pain and muscle tension.

Electric Muscle Stimulation

Pads are placed on your skin that send an interferential current into the muscles. In doing so, your pain and muscle tension can be alleviated.
Intersegmental Traction

You’ll lie comfortably on your back while you get intersegmental traction. The table has built-in rollers that roll along the spine, increasing your range of motion. It will make your adjustment easier by getting your joints moving before you see your chiropractor.
Ultrasound

If you have an injury, heat may be the best way to help the area heal. Ultrasound applies heat to the area, promoting your recovery while decreasing pain levels.
Cold Laser Therapy

Our laser will stimulate healing at a cellular level, accelerating your healing process. You’ll find that the time it would normally take to recover can be markedly reduced with laser therapy.
Dry Needling

Dry needling and acupuncture are similar, but with different philosophies behind the application of needles. We perform dry needling using traditional, hair-like needles or with the use of an electrical current. The results are breaking up trigger points, relieving muscle tension and alleviating your pain.
Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)

IASTM is a form of soft tissue work. You can think of it like a friction massage applied to muscles, creating inflammation so that your body’s healing response is stimulated.
Cupping

When a silicone cup is placed on the skin, air is pumped out to create a vacuum, lifting the tissue. Fresh blood is circulated into the area while moving waste products out, relieving tension and increasing mobility.
Rehabilitation At Home

We provide therapeutic exercises so that you can manage your symptoms and increase your healing in the convenience of your home. We’ll determine which areas need to be rehabilitated, then determine the most effective exercises or movement patterns to reduce your symptoms and make sure they don’t come back.

I'm scared the adjustment will hurt. Can you still help me?

Yes. Our techniques include instrument-based methods, which means you won’t have to worry about discomfort.
I like hearing a noise when I get adjusted. Do you use those types of techniques?

There are a myriad of ways to be adjusted. Some patients love to hear a noise, while others don’t want to hear anything. We’ll work with you to give you what suits you best and what you can tolerate.
Will you make sure the adjustment is appropriate for my condition?

Yes. A 97-year-old wouldn’t get the same adjustment as a 35-year-old weightlifter. We’ll find the right technique for you. When we adjust babies, they sleep right through their adjustment. We have something for everyone.
Will you walk me through the adjustment before getting started?

Yes. We’ll explain each step so that there are no surprises. Even people who are nervous walk out of the office saying, “Wow, that was so easy!”
